Publisher's Summary
One of Jane Austen’s most beloved works, Pride and Prejudice, is vividly brought to life by Academy Award nominee Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl). In her bright and energetic performance of this British classic, she expertly captures Austen’s signature wit and tone. Her attention to detail, her literary background, and her performance in the 2005 feature film version of the novel provide the perfect foundation from which to convey the story of Elizabeth Bennet, her four sisters, and the inimitable Mr. Darcy.
In Pride and Prejudice, the Bennet sisters try to find their way in the repressive strictures of 19th-century society. Austen shows the folly of judging by first impressions and the experience of falling in love, and she superbly describes a world which, despite being more than two centuries old, still resonates with modern concerns.
Critic Reviews
"British actress Rosamund Pike is the perfect choice to narrate this novel of manners, and listening to her voice each of the iconic characters is great fun.... Austen's many devotees will savor this first-rate version of her charming novel." ( AudioFile)

Beautifully put together
With a humour that is so very peculiar to Austen and the perfect balance of equally heart touching and reasonably feminist story, Pride and Prejudice is, in my humble opinion, the best of all of Jane Austen's works. With a narration such as the likes of Rosamund Pike, whom I'll be embarrassed to say I had no attention of prior to my experience of this audiobook, as she perfectly asserts the most prominent civil dominance and head strongness that I'd expect from a character as vivacious as Elizabeth Bennett and her strong narration made the adventure all the more joyous. i spent the whole time listening to this audiobook with meager breaks, I regret nothing of the time spent and I'll be most glad to follow more of Rosamund Pike's narrative works.

An English classic read by an English rose
I was able to listen to the audio book in one go just like I was able to read it in one go. Witty, sharp, dry with not a dull page.

The narration is really good!
I am reading the book with the audiobook. I am able to listen to the pronunciation of different words. And the artistic narration, in different voices for different characters helps in many ways. I am thankful to audible for that.
With a paperback and a pen, I am also able to search for different word meanings. Good for improving my English. I have also noticed many idioms and figures of speech in the book, making it ideal for me, at least.
The amazing story is also what I am thankful for. The author, as everybody knows already, is a really talented one. My appreciation.

Delightful!
Pride and Prejudice has been a favorite novel for me ever since I first read it. Consequently, I have read it multiple times (I've quite lost count how many times) and listened to many versions of audiobooks, but none have delighted me as much as this version read by Rosamund Pike. She brought to life this timeless piece of excellence and all it's characters with such skill and emotion as I've never witnessed before in any other reader. I'm wholly satisfied with this audiobook. I look forward to listening to it again and again with alacrity.
