ALEX FISCHLER was born in Santa Clara, California, and raised in nearby San Jose. He has written for the Columbia (Mo.) Daily Tribune, the sports department of the San Jose (Calif.) Mercury News, and has freelanced for other publications. An All-American racquetball player, Alex was a California state champion as a teenager and recently competed in the Wilson International Collegiate Championships in Tempe, Arizona. A graduate of the prestigious Bellarmine College Preparatory School, Alex is currently studying English and Film at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri.
