Alex Hannaford has worked as a journalist and editor for 13 years and is a regular contributor to newspapers and magazines in the UK, U.S., Hong Kong and Australia. He worked as a staffer on the London Evening Standard and, based in Texas, has covered two presidential elections, the emotive issues surrounding the death penalty, and human interest stories for The Guardian, Observer, Telegraph, Independent, Esquire and Sunday Times magazine, among others. In 2006 he wrote a biography of rock star Pete Doherty for Random House and ghosted 'My Prodigal Son', published by Headline the same year. He has also written a series of brief music biographies for Artnik Books.
