Born in France, Ana Jorda grew up in the United Kingdom and Spain. She studied Filosofía y Letras in Universidad Complutense of Madrid, and moved to New York in 1972, graduating as English major from Southampton College, Long Island. Ana has worked as translator and interpreter (English into Spanish and Spanish into English), and taught English and Spanish in the United States, Italy and Spain. She now lives between Denver, Colorado, near her children and grandchildren, and Madrid. In 1990 Editorial Litoral, Málaga, published Zona Desquiciada, a collection of poems, and in 1992, Antología Poesía Norteamericana Contemporánea, translation of poems from English into Spanish. In 2014 CreateSpace, South Carolina, published Like a Storm of Soft Wind, a collection of poems in English, French and Spanish, and in 2017, Lenguaje de un Silencio, a collection of poems in Spanish. In 2021, Amazon published The Friends of God, a collection of poems in English, and Los Amigos de Dios, a collection of poems in Spanish.
