www.anngreenleafwirtz.com is my website. Kansas born and raised in Webster Groves, Missouri, I grew up in the heartland of our country. A teaching degree from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois and a Master's Degree in Reading from Illinois State in Normal formed the foundation for my teaching experience. I taught elementary school for a number of years and became a reading specialist. Along the way were many moves, allowing the opportunity to also live in Wisconsin, Indiana, South Carolina, and my final home in Hendersonville, North Carolina. All the various communities and even the opportunity to own a gift shop in Minocqua, Wisconsin, The Greenleaf Shoppe, as well as owning a pewter jewelry business called Rapture, Inc., have provided a base of experience that has enhanced the writing I've been fortunate to do. After my first husband died from cancer, I wrote "Sorrow Answered," sharing the journey and intersection of grief and faith. I've also written "The Henderson County Curb Market," about the history of our local farmer's market which will be 100 years old in 2024, receiving the Willie Parker Peace History Book Award from the NC Society of Historians. My third book was "Hand of Mercy," a true story of a man coming to faith following an accident in which he died twice. Over the years, I've written numerous articles for various newspapers. I was blessed to marry again in 2006, my dear husband Patrick Wirtz. I have a wonderful son, a lovely daughter-in-law, and two of the dearest grandchildren ever. I'm deeply and humbly grateful for my family, my friends, and my faith.
