Barbara Dean Aliaga (1946 - present). Born in Oakland California. Raised in Berkeley California, Spent time as a Sister of The Holy Names from 1963 to 1968 where she taught 2nd and 5th grades in San Francisco and Venice, California. She met her future husband in 1969 and celebrate their 50th anniversary in 2020. Barbara currently lives in northern Washington since 1974. Married, with one son, daughter-in-law and two grandsons. Two brothers in Washington, one sister in Texas, numerous nephews and nieces ... and be autiful friends who like to share with their heart! Barbara has embraced roles in life as wife, mom, grandmother, daughter, friend, teacher, speaker, typesetter, woodworker, artist, singer, author. She served over 25 years as an executive director of The Harman Eye Clinic, an eye surgery center, in Arlington WA, which was especially meaningful for her. She retired in 2018 at 72-years-young. On Camano Island, Washington. Barbara loves to entertain new ways of thinking about things. She enjoys sharing with her husband, family and friends. She also is not afraid to spend lots of time alone, growing in meditation, writing, digital painting, creating, philosophizing, and oh yes, watching for eagles soar over the island. Barbara seeks life through the eyes of love and kindness. She is not oblivious to the world situation. She is well-informed yet reminds herself daily these things change, her love is forever. Her first book since retirement, "Getting To Happy: Learning to Read Emotional Messages", is indicative of her philosophy's current path.
