When she isn’t writing, Barbie works as the Director of one of the busiest Robotic Gynecologic Oncology Departments in the world alongside her husband. She also makes wreaths and chocolate-covered candies, and loves decorating for the holidays. Barbie shares her life with her wonderful sons and husband, as well as Pomeranians, Tye and Daisy, Weimaraner Beau, and Kodak, a year old Cane Corso. Cleopatra, an African grey parrot, and a tortoise, Kai, complete her bustling, vibrant home. Barbie L J Yuen is an experienced nurse of thirty years and a devoted mother and wife. Now based in Miami, Florida, her exciting nursing career has taken her from Kansas to Australia and all across the US. Her life is one of constant learning and exploring her creativity.
Her love of God and her family are the twin inspirations for Barbie’s children’s books. Her dad, Larry Judy, used to make up stories for her and her brothers, giving her a lifelong passion for storytelling. Her three beloved sons, Ashton, Preston, and Tristan, are her heart and soul. Their questions about Santa and the tooth fairy provided her with the initial opportunity to share her stories. Now, she’s excited by the idea of helping other children to explore their imaginations.
Generosity and altruism are important moral and religious beliefs for Barbie, and she always puts others first. Her heart goes out to all children—that’s why her primary aim is to create books that make all children feel loved and important, and give them a sense of purpose.
Barbie’s Tooth Fairy Adventures are based on the stories she told to her children when they lost their teeth. She adores being able to transport children to a magical world, and she’d love to adapt her stories into movies one day, to spread the smiles even further. Tooth Fairies Do Exist is the first stop on her journey to bring families together through laughter and to make everlasting happy memories.
