Born in the Deep South, Bellamy Gayle currently lives under shady oaks in the Cajun country of south Louisiana with her husband, near other family members. She has traveled extensively, and has lived both overseas and on the USA's west coast. She has always worked, but made time for fun playing tennis and maintaining close friendships. Keep Me Safe is Gayle's first novel in the Sazerac series, now followed by Nothing To Regret, but she has a background in journalism for local papers and periodicals. Raised in a household of college-educated parents and brothers gave Gayle a unique view of the world, which she used in business as the owner of travel agencies, and in politics as an elected official. A career in real estate followed. Now retired, Gayle draws on that experience as she writes manuscripts conceived years earlier. South Louisiana is replete with rich traditions - of delicious food, toe-tapping music, and pleasurable laughter - that are important to folks who live there, whether they are native to the area or not. And bayou country is definitely a melting-pot of people who gravitate to the state. Prior to Gayle's arrival in Lafayette, Louisiana, she and her family lived in Corvallis, Oregon. There was culture shock after the move, but in a good way. Introverts become extroverts in the warm and welcoming embrace of the Cajuns, and that alone provides an endless supply of excellent story material for observant authors. Bellamy Gayle wants to share her experiences. With her family's support, she sits at a computer and the Sazerac Series about the DuMonds and their friends, centered in Louisiana, gradually unfolds.
