Bonnie Brooks is a respected Producer in film & music, she recently produced "The Gift" with Francisco Gonzalez" "The 17th Street Band" with Harvey Brooks and "View from the Bottom" an online history of Harvey Brooks on www.harveybrooks.net. Early in her career, she taught young children at Saugatuck Nursery School in Westport, Ct. She left teaching to move into her producing career starting as Cablevision Access Coordinator for Westport, Ct. One of her film project "Art Theme and Variation" interviews of five artists who lived and worked in CT, including Paul Cadmus, Reuben Nakian, Lila Howard, Ann Chernow and Jean Woodham is now archived at the Smithsonian in Washington, DC. Bonnie was hired as the Media Director for the "Museum of Art, Science & Industry" today "The Discovery Museum in Bridgeport, Ct to help create a multimedia vision for their future. There she produced "From Page to Screen" for Weston Woods and its related company, Children's Circle home video, to create a retrospective exhibition at the Discovery Museum the largest interactive art and science museum between New York and Boston. The exhibit included animation cels, original pieces of art, photographs, corresponding picture books and the films which played on six video monitors throughout the first floor of the museum. The monitors showed how animated films were made and documentaries about the lives of award winning authors & illustrators. The monitors were programmed to show a series of Weston Woods films. Today Weston Woods is part of Scholastic. Bonnie created the first "Rock and Roll: Art and Artifacts" this exhibition covered the relationship between art and rock'n'roll which featured plenty of rock memorabilia from the t0s to the 80s, including a Jimi Hendrix guitar and the original model of the Yellow submarine used to animate the Beatles feature film, Meat Loaf's black leather, leopard lined and rhinestone trimmed jacked from the rocky Horror Picture Show, posters from the Filmore East and West, photos by Annie Leibovitz and Paul McCartney's brother Michael. Works by Andy Warhol, Keith Haring and Ron Wood. It was during this exhibit that Bonnie re-connected with a Junior High School friend (now husband) Harvey Brooks. This is Bonnie's first children's book dedicated to her 14 grandchildren and her three daughters who have given her more then she has given them!
