Brandon Broll (born 18 August 1960) is a South African-British author and polymath. As a qualified wildlife biologist, poet and chairman of the Civil Rights League of South Africa, he came to London in 1990 as an exile and Huddleston war resister against apartheid. He studied at the London Writing School while delivering softdrinks, furniture and flowers, before using his scientific training as a medical journalist, science writer, and reader at the British Library. His customers called him ”Doctor Electric” when he worked as a certified electrician after being awarded a doctorate in history in 2015. In 1994, his biography appeared in the ‘International Who’s Who in Poetry’ (Cambridge), and in 2006 his bestselling science book ‘Microcosmos’ garnered international praise in the US, UK and Europe. In 2020, Riols Quarter began to publish his backlog of poetry, fiction and non-fiction, including his writings on consciousness. Brandon Broll has two sons.
