C. L. Thweatt is a native of Baltimore, Maryland. She earned her B.A. degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. After obtaining her undergraduate degree, Ms. Thweatt began her career as a teacher. Her first teaching position was at a private school in Milford Mill, Maryland. Ms. Thweatt also taught for the Baltimore City and County Public Schools. After years of teaching in Maryland, Ms. Thweatt moved to North Carolina to obtain her M.A. degree from North Carolina A&T State University. While pursuing her master’s degree, Ms. Thweatt continued her teaching career in the North Carolina Public Schools. The theme of Thweatt's books is Life Lessons. 'Little Girl Peet' is Ms. Thweatt’s first children’s book.
