I was born in a small house in the little town of Waltersburg, Pa in 1941. Having two older sisters. I was lucky and had a good family life. Not the most prosperous, but happy. My first loves of life were westerns, (cowboys, as we called them) early America stories and music. I spent most of my working years in variety stores. The G C Murphy Co. and a few years with McCrory's Stores. Having tried a couple other ventures I retired from the U. S. Postal Service. After retiring I rewrote a short story I had written in the 70's titled "Many Trails". Then I finished one that I had started back then titled "the Days of Rains". I at present have 18 titles on Amazon in paperback and eBooks. Though I have listed myself as an author/self-publisher I really consider myself as a storyteller. I haven’t any formal training in literature but I love writing western adventures. I didn’t say in the beginning that I was a story teller because that what Louis L’Amour said of himself and since I consider him the greatest in western writing I didn’t want people thinking I was comparing myself to him. In reality it comes down to I am just a story teller. I love creating characters and telling their stories and bringing them to life. The thing about writing a story is before you finish one you have other characters and stories developing in your mind and want to put them in print. I am presently finishing up another story. My stories are many times novellas and short stories. My short stories are longer than most, but not quite novellas. I don’t add a lot of words to make a story longer. I believe in letting the reader’s imagination show them many of the scenes in their minds. I tell people how I watched shows on radio. Some people might remember sitting and staring at the radio as they listened and saw some of the best action and mysteries that could ever be seen. Some of the stories I‘ve seen on radio could not have been more alive than if they were in the movies. This is the same feeling I would like readers of my stories to feel.
I hope that my readers will get the enjoyment out of reading my stories as much as I have reading the stories of others. I thank Kindle for making possible a means of publishing my books. It is nice to know that people in different countries, such as, Canada, France. Italy, Denmark, England and Japan have downloaded copies of my stories.
Keep watching for the upcoming release of my next book. Thanks to all who have read my stories.
