When I was young, I always wanted to be an author. I would spend hours writing stories. My family loved it but I was always afraid to go for it. This time I cast my fear down and I am following my dreams. How freeing! I LOVE to write as much as I love to read. I'm writing more books that I plan to publish.
I also have a passion for horses. I used to volunteer at a horseback riding service at a park. I remember I was sent to a field next to where the horses were kept to learn to ride. A girl more experienced than me was riding in front of me. We were just walking in circles so I could learn to relax and move with the horse. My horse tripped and fell flat on his face so I was vertical, desperately trying not to fall forward. The girl turned around but my horse falling spooked her horse and he jumped and she fell off. Her horse spooking spooked my horse when he was getting up and he lunged forward. I don't know what happened but I ended up flat on my back on the horse's rump, legs straight up in the air, my hands in between my legs holding the reigns for dear life. My first thought was how do I get back in the saddle without falling off? Second thought was I hope the manager doesn't see me or I'll never live it down. Ever see those cartoons where the cartoon character walks on their butt cheeks? I didn't know it could be done until that happened. Literally used my butt cheeks to scoot and slowly sat up. Fortunately my horse knew I was in trouble and kept absolutely still. Or it could have been me pulling back on the reigns too tightly. Thank God we didn't use bits! I still went back cause I'm a sucker for horses.
