At any given time, Chanté McCoy is reading a handful of novels, taking a continuing education class to dabble in her latest interest (NOTE: she has no future in belly dancing), or hiking with her beloved Doberman Pinscher. In 2018, she hiked the Pacific Crest Trail, a 2650-mile stretch from the border of Mexico to Canada...alas, without her pup.
Her most recent publication is "Midnight Chronicles," a collection of 11 dark and strange supernatural short stories, featuring ambitious demons, terrorized vessels, a newly awakened zombie driven by memories, an enamored vigilante spirit nomad, a possessed donkey, and frantic apocalypse survivors. It's spine-tingling horror with a splash of laughter, a pinch of word play, and exotic locales across time.
Her debut novella, "Seven White Wolves," is a "lyrical" and "ethereal" retold fairy tale, transporting readers to the early Middle Ages, with historical detailing and beautiful imagery to capture the imagination.
In the fiction mix is a children's book, "Blue Bear and Snow Toad," a tale about a young bear and toad who resist hibernating to experience a day of winter. Kirkus Reviews calls "Blue Bear and Snow Toad" a "charming picture book" and "a delightful ode to the season." Rated 5 stars on Amazon and available as a hardbound book.
Chanté has also published in "The Crimson Pact" (volumes 1, 2, 3, and 5), "Spec the Halls," "Short Sips," "Big Pulp," "Eighth Day Genesis," "Dark Moon Digest," "The Dead Walk Again," and "Sidekicks!". In addition to fantasy, Chanté's publication credits include a multitude of articles in "Dog Fancy," "Pets in the City," "Confetti," "Boy's Life," and "Highlights" magazines.
