Cherrie Hatchett is a survivor. At thirteen, her mother passed away from Leukemia and she was left in the care of her stepfather. That’s when the abuse began, both physical and sexual. She endured her suffering for three years until at the age of sixteen, she ran away, hitchhiking across multiple states to free herself from the torture.
She landed in Dallas, Texas, where she started her new life working as a clerk in a department store, saving enough money to enroll at the University of Texas at Dallas when she was twenty. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and worked for several years as a social worker and is now working a corporate job (which is a horror story of its own) while she is studying for her master’s in Psychology. Now at thirty-two, she lives in the vibrant city of Dallas, is a respected member of society, and has an active social life.
But the horrible memories of her past are always with her. At night, when she lies awake, and the demons come to haunt her, she seeks escape through her dark half, puts pen to paper, and exercises those demons, avenging the young girl she once was. Writing dark fiction is her therapy—mostly because murder is illegal. Cherrie Hatchett writes under a pseudonym to protect the innocent.
