Chris (C.C.) Humphreys was born in Toronto, lived till he was seven in Los Angeles, then grew up in the UK. All four grandparents were actors, and since his father was an actor as well, it was inevitable he would follow the bloodline. Chris has performed on stages from London’s West End to Hollywood in roles including Hamlet, Caleb the gladiator in NBC's AD-Anno Domini', Clive Parnell in ‘Coronation Street’, PC Richard Turnham in 'The Bill', the Immortal Graham Ashe in ‘Highlander’, Jack Absolute in 'The Rivals' (This performance led to him writing the Jack Absolute novels – and they say acting doesn’t pay!). Bizarrely, he was also the voice of Salem the cat in ‘Sabrina the Teenage Witch’. A playwright and award-winning novelist, Chris Humphreys has written 22 novels including ‘The French Executioner’ - runner up for the Steel Dagger for Thrillers, UK -‘The Jack Absolute Trilogy’, ‘Vlad–The Last Confession’, and ‘A Place Called Armageddon’. Chris adapted his 12th novel, ‘Shakespeare’s Rebel’ for the stage and it received its premiere in 2015 at Bard on the Beach, Vancouver, Canada. His novel ‘Plague’ won Canada’s Arthur Ellis Award for Best Crime Novel in 2015. ‘Chasing the Wind’ follows the daring adventures of 1930s aviatrix, Roxy Loewen. His modern crime novel, ‘One London Day’ was published in 2021. He recently completed his epic fantasy series for Gollancz, ‘Immortals’ Blood’, beginning with 'Smoke on the Glass'. His novels for young adult readers include, ‘The Runestone Saga Trilogy’ published by Knopf, as well as ‘The Tapestry Trilogy’. His latest novel is 'Someday I'll Find You', a WW2 epic romance. It was published by Doubleday Canada on June 6th, 2023, and around the world on September 5th, 2023. His novels have been translated into thirteen languages. He is also a teacher and holds a Masters in Fine Arts (Creative Writing) from the University of British Columbia. He has been keynote speaker and Guest of Honour at several conferences - including the HNS North American Conference in Denver 2015.
