Christina Potter’s over twenty years of training dogs have taught her more than her Masters Degree in Canine Psychology ever could. She has spent thousands of hours handling dogs for print ads, websites, motion capture for video games, commercials, feature films and television shows--both live and pre-recorded. She was the animal handler on the live TV Special “2014 Hero Dog Awards”, the 2018 pilot episode of the TV series “The Good Cop”, the 2013 video short “…And She Was My Eve” and other series episodes. She was the on-set handler for the films 2007 “Funny Games”, 2010 “As Good As Dead”, 2011 “Our Idiot Brother”, 2018 “Second Act”, 2019 “Brittany Runs a Marathon”, 2021 “Christmas vs. The Walters”, 2023 “A Good Person” and the upcoming “Day of the Fight”. She has trained and titled dogs in Rally, Competitive Obedience, Conformation, Agility and Trick Dog. She promoted the American Kennel Club’s trick dog program with two live demos during the 142nd Westminster Kennel Club, both during the agility finals and during the second day of conformation. She is the author of “Chester Gigolo: Diary of a Dog Star”; “Insider Training: Chester Gigolo’s Dog Training Secrets Revealed” for which she received the 2016 DWAA Captain Haggerty Award for Best Training Book and the 11th Annual National Indie Excellence Awards; “Head of the Pack: Chester Gigolo’s Advanced Dog Training Secrets”, which was named a finalist in the 2017 Best Book Awards, the 2018 Next Generation Indie Book Awards, and the 12th Annual National Indie Excellence Awards; “Pepe Learns to Run Again”; and the children’s book series “Hudson and Rodney Go to New York”. She is a contributing author to “Animal Stars: Behind the Scenes with Your Favorite Animal Actors”. She was a weekly columnist for the Three Dog Bakery company. She has also written numerous articles which have appeared in multiple national and international publications. Christina, a member of the Dog Writers Association of America, is a federally-certified court interpreter who also holds a BS in Business and a Masters Degree in Public Administration. She lives in New Jersey with her four dogs: Chester (Berger Picard), Pepe (Chinese Crested), Rodney (Berger Picard) and Wattson (Kromfohrlander).
