Self-published writer. Day job? Faceless government bureaucrat. There's a reason he writes escapist fantasy. Born in 1980 in that curious no-man's land between Gen X and Millennial, Chris grew to love reading and writing from a very early age. By the time he graduated college in 2002, he'd written several terrible short stories and a very long self-insert fanfic, just like many other aspiring writers with delusions of grandeur. After school, he wrote a web serial that has thankfully been mostly lost to time. After finding a nice boring job, he settled down into a nice boring life and didn't think about writing for a few years. Then, one night in 2010, a story idea poked him in the side of the head until he gave in, got up, and wrote out what would become the first chapter of The Demon Inside Me. It was all downhill from there. Over the next ten years, he worked on self-publishing the Demon series, as well as converting his old web serial into a more traditional novel format. In one particularly inspired moment, he decided to submit queries for the new book to agents in an attempt to break into the traditional publishing world. It went absolutely nowhere. Another complete rewrite later, he self-published the old web serial as the new Kevin Parker series. His favorite genre is urban/contemporary fantasy. Some of his favorite authors are Jim Butcher, Brandon Sanderson, and Steven Eriksen. He lives alone with two enormous cats who are probably staring at him right now because they're always, always hungry.
