I have been a working sociologist since 1999. I have been a writer since 1976. And I have been a social satirist since 1970, after first boarding your planet in 1965. My fiction celebrates absurdist, social satire---an indispensable tool for exploring a world born of contradiction and driven by total faith in rationality and, above all, order. I wrote my first book at age 11. It was a tell-all memoir. Lost long ago, under suspicious circumstances, the stories there told remain hidden to this day. My only aim today is to offer an occasional respite from the daily absurdities ailing all our actual lives. {And yes, should you Google my name [David Baronov], I am that guy, as well.) But why then should you or anyone read my book? That is simple. A sociological perspective is the rarest viewpoint you will encounter today. Yet it is the only viable perspective for making sense of the lives we live and the world we experience. Unfortunately, the ordinary venue for this perspective is nonfiction---a truly indigestible form. Thus, it is only fiction doused with the sociological that can truly capture the absurdity of our world and reimagine our reality. This explains the mission of Arthur: An Actuarial Odyssey.
