I graduated from the University of Virginia in 1993 with a degree in English Literature and obtained a master of teaching degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. The Outer Banks of North Carolina have been a second home to me for almost fifty years. Even now, after a move to Arizona, I, my husband, and our three children make the annual trip to summer on this special collection of barrier islands.
