Dr. Carol E. Miller Dr. Carol E. Miller earned a Doctorate in Higher Education Leadership from Nova Southeastern University with a minor in Applied Behavior Analysis. Her dissertation involved Federal, State, and local governmental research for the study, “The Impact of Accuplacer Diagnostic Testing Rate on Postsecondary Education Readiness.” She earned a Masters’ Degree in Public Administration with a minor in Economics and Management from the University of Central Florida, the #1 college in the nation. Her Skills include: Innovation of Academic Leadership, Facilitation of Operational Procedures; Professional Presentation and Communication Graphics; Creation of engaging written and audio-visual demonstrations; Proficient decision-making by Execution of Critical Thinking. Dr Miller’s vision: “We are teaching Future Professionals. Teaching is an Honourable Profession. Professors should be Honourably Compensated.” Dr. Miller exclusively teaches College Success at Seminole State College, since the inception of the Altamonte Springs campus in 2008 to present. Her most significant achievements have been as a Founding Member of Seminole State’s Adjunct Union under the auspices of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), as well as serving on the Organizing and Bargaining committees. This is in conjunction with her training as a Treasurer under the auspices of the Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA) in New York. She has been distinctively proficient in International Negotiations specifically utilizing non-verbal communication, such as acceptable gestures for effective and efficient modification and mollification. Presently, Dr. Miller is in the process of becoming certified through the Online TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) / TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) courses to utilize her pedagogy worldwide on the International/Global market. She will teach English worldwide within this high demand career to become a fundamental part of this paradigm changing programme for education. Dr. Miller has the accompanying educational achievement as an Associate Professor for Valencia College from 2006-2014, exclusively teaching Student Success on all three campuses. Her Professional Development was enhanced by participating in (3) Destination summer programs, which explored teaching and learning innovations, challenges, and solutions with colleagues from divergent fields and variable experiences that emphasized active learning, and culturally responsive pedagogy within an International community. She also worked as a Social Worker for the Department of Children and Families for six years. The experience gained from her daily commitment to families and the well-being of their children encompassed determining eligibility to receive Cash, Food Stamps, and Medicaid. Dr Miller assisted families in providing a safe positive environment, reunification of the family unit, and successful transition for self-sufficiency. Dr. Miller has a profound appreciation for The Most High God to provide service to the community and to continue studying biblical archeology as a researcher and Student of the Word! As a toastmaster attendee, she welcomes any opportunity to speak in colleges, churches, workshops, and conventions Internationally!
