Dr. Samarth Joseph, Ph.D., M.B.A., M.S.I.B., Chap. Dr. Samarth Joseph was born in Haiti and immigrated to the US at the age of 17. She is a proud graduate of Westbury High School. Dr. Joseph is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Espoir Youth Programs Incorporated, which she founded in 2012 to provide educational services for youth in the Town of North Hempstead and throughout Nassau County. ESPOIR, which in French means “hope,” has been spreading plenty of hope, with God’s guidance, Espoir continues to fix its eyes above. Dr. Joseph is involved with numerous organizations. She is a lifetime member of the United Nations Association of the United States of America; lifetime member of The International Society of Female Professionals; The Empire Who’s Who of Executives and Professionals; and the Epsilon Rho Chapter, Pi Delta Phi, National French Society. She is an active and dedicated Trustee and Director of Advantage Care Health Centers and the Westbury Carle Place Chamber of Commerce. On Friday, June 23, 2023, Dr. Joseph was inducted into the Town of North Hempstead Women’s Roll of Honor. Dr. Joseph’s biggest impact on her community has been through Espoir Youth Programs which seek to address social issues impacting families in the Town of North Hempstead. Youth are guided to develop the fundamentals of good character and to prevent involvement in at-risk behaviors. From its inception, Dr. Joseph defined her purpose, vision and commitment to serve an underserved community. Today, community families in need are connected with critical resources such as group counseling and social services to assist them. They receive important information to navigate government systems while maintaining full autonomy over their personal lives. The food pantry, also, is a welcome and valued resource for many. Dr. Joseph developed robust after-school enrichment and advantage programs with Westbury High School offering Peer Mediation Training, High School Talk sessions, African Dance, and Crisis Intervention services. In recent time, the William Pruitt Scholarship award was launched to provide for two Westbury High School students each year. Dr. Joseph has advocated for and introduced travel outside of the Westbury community to provide educational and memorable experiences for her young students. She would share her vision that the world is bigger than this small village. She works tirelessly to fund trips to NASA, in Maryland; to the White House in Washington, DC; the Liberty Bell and the U. S. Mint in Philadelphia; and the United Nations in New York City. Dr. Joseph is the author of a book collection called “It’s Not Over Yet.” In this book, someone can discover the power of resilience and the art of never giving up as Dr. Joseph takes you on an extraordinary adventure in her book.
