Elaine Siu is an industry builder in the post-animal bio-economy. As the Chief Innovation Officer at the Material Innovation Initiative (MII), Elaine works with startups and investors in growing a next-gen materials industry to replace animal-based materials. Elaine also served as the Managing Director of the Good Food Institute (GFI) Asia Pacific, building and accelerating the alternative proteins industry.
Prior to her career shift, Elaine had over a decade of experience in corporate and finance law, from IPO and M&A to structured products and investment funds. She holds an LLB Laws from King’s College London, Master of Science in entrepreneurship from University of Washington, and a Master’s in international animal welfare policies & laws from University of Edinburgh.
