Hi there! I’m Elizabeth Walling, the writer behind The Nourished Life blog. I started my blog in 2009 as a resource for others who are interested in improving their health and well-being the natural way, and wrote my eBooks The Nourished Metabolism and Love Your Body to expand on my favorite topics.
I began my own health journey a more than 8 years ago and quickly took a wrong turn. Like many young women, I thought under-eating and over-exercising were the path to health. Boy, was I wrong! After a couple years, my health had gotten progressively worse. I became an exhausted young mom with severe acne, insomnia, PMS, mood swings and no energy! I knew something wasn’t right, and that started my investigation into health and nutrition.
Today I enjoy excellent health, sleep like a baby and my moods are fantastic (well, most of the time!). But I still wanted to learn more, and I figured there were still a lot of folks out there looking for answers, so that’s when I started writing.
But who am I? I’m a hippie chick who digs rock ‘n’ roll. I’m a DIY-er who appreciates a nice pair of heels. I refuse to get cable TV, but boy do I love air conditioning.
I’ve always been a little bit unconventional, which is probably why I embrace an approach to getting healthy that includes listening to your body, finding what works for you and throwing dietary dogma out the window where it belongs.
These days I’m living the salt life my totally awesome husband of 12 years and our two children on the Atlantic coast. We love animals, homeschool, and basically enjoy living outside of the box.
