Emmy Sobieski is an investor, advisor, and entrepreneur with a passion for sharing high-leverage career paths. Emmy is a co-founder and COO of Competitive Storytelling, Inc., and COO of Performative Speaking; both help world-class founders use storytelling to change the world.
Prior to Performative Speaking, Emmy was COO of satschel, a Web3 startup, and founded and cofounded several entrepreneurial ventures, including My10Min, an executive coaching start-up; Digita, a blockchain technology for real estate and private assets; and Alderan Capital, an Agile-based alt-ed hedge fund.
Emmy’s earlier career as a professional investor includes positions as an analyst and portfolio manager at firms with diverse strategies, asset size, and type. She co-ran the (number one in 1999, up 495%) Nicholas | Applegate Global Technology Fund; was one of three analysts at Palantir Capital; ran $6 billion in tech assets at OppenheimerFunds (now Invesco); and managed a bond fund, energy fund, and technology fund at Farmers Insurance.
Emmy serves as an adviser to Audiience, a data science company and a start-up hedge fund. She served as an adviser to Leaf Global Fintech—giving refugees financial resilience using Stellar Blockchain—from inception to acquisition. (Leaf was recently acquired by NYSE: IDT.) Additionally, Emmy is a former board director and development committee member for Community Resource Center in Encinitas, California, providing food, shelter, and safety to the vulnerable and serves as a mentor for women and students.
Emmy is a prolific writer and frequent speaker on issues pertaining to building businesses, achieving financial independence and success, Web3, and blockchain. She is also a nationally and globally ranked athlete in equestrian, running, and bodybuilding. Emmy earned her MBA at the University of Southern California and her BA at UC San Diego and is a CFA and CBP (certified bitcoin professional).
