After reading approximately a million romance novels during the COVID-19 pandemic, Evie tried her hand at writing contemporary romance. She published the first novel of her Startup Love series, SHIP IT, in 2022 and followed it up with a sequel, PITCH IT, in 2023. Pivoting a bit with LIGHT IT UP, she set out to write a fun and endearing Jewish romance novel that expressed the beauty and meaningfulness of the Jewish experience with the hope that both Jewish and non-Jewish readers could connect to and enjoy it.
