Felix F. Giordano is the award winning author of the mystery/suspense/thriller series, The Jim Buchanan Novels whose protagonist is a mixed-blood Crow Native American sheriff from western Montana.
For every Jim Buchanan Novels' paperback, ebook, and audiobook sold, Mr. Giordano donates $1 to Chief Plenty Coups State Park where the vision of Chief Plenty Coups carries on. http://stateparks.mt.gov/chief-plenty-coups/
The last chief of the Crow Nation, Chief Plenty Coups experienced a vision when he was very young that non-Native American people would ultimately take control of his homeland (Montana), so he always felt that cooperation would benefit his people much more than opposition. He very much wanted the Crow to survive as a people and their customs and spiritual beliefs to carry on. His efforts on their behalf ensured that this happened, and he led his people peacefully into the 20th century.
One of his famous quotes is: "Education is your greatest weapon. With education you are the white man's equal, without education you are his victim and so shall remain all of your lives. Study, learn, help one another always. Remember there is only poverty and misery in idleness and dreams - but in work there is self respect and independence."
Mr. Giordano's first novel in the series, "Montana Harvest" was a 2016 finalist for the Independent Publishers of New England Book Award and a 2017 IPNE Book Award winner in the mystery/suspense category. To date, Felix’ novels have sold in multiple countries worldwide. He is also a professional freelance editor, lecturer, and workshop coordinator. He lives in New England with his family and a very spoiled but loving Boingle (GSP/Beagle mix).
Felix is a member of the Western Writers of America (WWA), the Science Fiction Writers of America (SFWA), the Independent Publishers of New England (IPNE), the Association of Publishers for Special Sales (APSS), and the Eastern Connecticut Writers (ECW). He is the ECW coordinator for their chapter at the Willington Public Library.
In addition to "Montana Harvest", Mr. Giordano also published the mystery/suspense/thriller novels "Mystery at Little Bitterroot", "The Killing Zone", and "Missing in Montana". Upcoming novels in process include "Blood on the Rez", "Miracle of the Talking Stick", "Incident at Dead River Junction" as well as the historical fiction novel, "Mystery at Fort Benton".
Mr. Giordano completed the novella "Missing in Montana", a companion piece to The Jim Buchanan Novels that was published on October 15, 2018 along with novellas from western mystery authors Mark Reps and R. Lawson Gamble in a unique, groundbreaking collaborative effort titled "Western Justice". "Missing in Montana" is now a stand-alone novel available on Amazon.com.
"Missing in Montana" chronicles a five-year old cold-case abduction investigation by undercover FBI agent Axe Killian and introduces Mr. Giordano's series' protagonist, Cedar County Sheriff Jim Buchanan early in his law enforcement career when he was a Montana Highway Patrol Officer assigned to the Havre to Fort Benton patrol route. "Missing in Montana" will be the first in a series of novels about protagonist, Axe Killian who made his first appearance in "The Killing Zone".
Felix’ characters in the Jim Buchanan Novels are reflective of his many life experiences in Montana. From the grandeur of Glacier Park to the cedar forests near the Kootenai River to the vastness of the Madison Valley, from the cliffs of the Rimrocks to the haunting secrets of the Crazy Mountains and the bleakness of the Missouri Breaks, Mr. Giordano captures the varied landscapes, wildlife, people, and customs indigenous to this beautiful and enduring land.
The mystery and haunting secrets of the western mountainous terrain contrasting with the vast and bleak eastern plains formed the natural backdrop for the divergence between two very different cultures inhabiting that landscape providing the inspiration for his Native American themed mystery/suspense/thriller series - The Jim Buchanan Novels.
