When a favorite 7th-grade English teacher told Hesterberg that she had a gift, his words sparked a passion for writing. As an adult, she discovered her great-grandmother was a published Spanish poet, and the passion burned even brighter. A church leader noticed her skill with words and asked her to write for a Christmas devotional. She felt drawn to write again and again. Hesterberg has written for Woman’s World, The Mighty, Earnest, and God-sized Dreams. She lives in South Texas with her husband, three children, and a dog.
