Glenn Bever is a retired Deputy Director for Research and Engineering at the NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center, and held other management and project chief engineering positions there. For much of his 42-year NASA career he developed embedded systems for a variety of research vehicles ranging from propeller-driven to supersonic, high altitude aircraft. Between 1995 to 1999, Mr. Bever spent much of his time in Russia representing the United States as instrumentation and on-site engineer for the Tu-144LL high speed research program, the subject of this book. Although retired, Mr. Bever holds a position as the first Emeritus engineer at NASA Armstrong.
