Imagine an 8-year old girl who lived with a monster. She's not a character in a fictional horror story. Her name is Glori and that was my childhood. I grew up in Miramichi, New Brunswick, Canada. The monster was my grandmother's second husband. He raped me and sexually abused me for two, long, traumatic years. I came close to ending my life in more than one desperate moment. It was only when I became a warrior and surrendered control of my life to God, that I started to heal and repair from the inside out. All of us are beautifully broken but it is in our brokenness that we become game changers, that we make things happen because we understand darkness and we understand pain and the end of our comfort zone. Recently, a diagnosis of stage 3 cervical cancer brought my life to a halt. I began a journey of rediscovering my faith, practicing self-love and focusing on my mental health. I discovered resiliency, love and hope by being a voice for vulnerable children, and by advocating for social change in the business and non-profit communities. I am happily married to the love of my life, mom to four children, successful entrepreneur, founder of Little Warriors, and builder of Be Brave Ranch the first world class multi-modal treatment center for survivors of childhood sexual abuse.
