Grace Southerly wanted to be a newspaper editor as a young girl, but life took her in different directions, from banking to farming. From spending summers with her grandmother, she came to appreciate the company, colorful stories and humor of her senior citizen friends. This love continued through Grandma's life, with progressive dementia until the rich age of 96. Throughout the years, she has also assisted with many family members and church friends in their declining years. Now, Grace oversees the care of her mother in a Memory Care residence. Although Grace has written for various newsletters and magazines, Dementia Behaviors - Caregivers Survival Guide, is her first published book. It is the culmination of her experience, research and advice from professional caregivers. Consider this a labor of love and ministry of sorts dedicated to those who suffer from dementia and those who have lovingly dedicated themselves to their care. May you be blessed.
