Greg Fernandes is the Choral & Music Director at Dedham Country Day School in Dedham, MA where he also coaches flag football for the varsity and JV teams. Prior to that, Greg was the first black music teacher at Buckingham Browne and Nichols School.
Best known for his ability to teach and work with children of all walks of life and socioeconomic backgrounds, Greg founded the Brockton Community Children's Choir in 2011 and started the first violin ensemble at NHCS (a charter school Dorchester, MA). A high energy and dynamic speaker, Greg presented at the Middle School Students of Color Conference in 2018.
Greg also continues his twenty-year long gig as the premier MC for Siagel Productions where he is best known for his ability to orchestrate a party, bar mitzvah, wedding or corporate event where the youngest and the oldest person in the room have an equally good time.
Greg has a BA in music, and has played the violin since the age of three. He sang in a do-wop band, Sha-Boom that opened for the Temptations in 2002. He is a member of NAIS (National Association of Independent Schools), NAFME (National Association For Music Educators), MMEA (Mass Music Educators Association). He lives with his three children in Massachusetts.
