An exceptionally passionate student of American History spurred on by an increasingly divided nation and a much-contested election, Gretchen dove deep into the political and historical record to prove a most unusual hypothesis. She dares to bring together two apparent opposites and reveal Lincoln and Trump as authentically kindred presidents. Gretchen grew up in a suburban Kentucky blue-collar home that valued freedom, faith, and family. Degrees in English and History with professional expertise in Education broadened her horizons and aided her pursuit of authorship. An independent and adventurous spirit took her West. Years of perseverance, snagging opportunities and some tenuous leaps of faith brought her and her husband Mike the fly-over home-place in Wyoming where they raised four daughters on wide-open spaces, lots of chores, plenty of study, faith and freedom. Still ranching and farming, Gretchen teaches on a regular basis, and fills her extra time with a small business, writing, and a few stress-relieving mindless hobbies.
