A Journalist by training, Mr. Fedan has dedicated most of his professional life to social research while his avocation has been deeply rooted in history. A deep meditator since childhood, he has decided to write about people and events in life that are catalysts for humanity's evolution.
His first novel was all about self exploration. He had been plagued by chronic depression since childhood and wanted to find out why. His exploration, "Dream Maker a Mystical Tale," is much along the lines of Ernest Becker's "Fear of Death" but with a holistic approach; a novel that was meant to entertain as it enlightens. Several comments on Amazon.com give testimony to how helpful this simple novel has been to some people.
His second book was a means of honoring the Knights Templar, for whom he always felt a special kinship. As a researcher he knew that there were obvious gaps and attempts at obfuscation in the formal historical accounts, and he decided to set the record straight. This he did, after seven years of exhaustive research. The result, "The Templars, Two Kings and a Pope," has been lauded by respected historians and has hit best-seller lists several times in the U.S. and the U.K. The novel uncovers the role that a single man, Lord Otto de Grandson, played in the events that led to the apparent dissolution of the Templar Order. In fact it meant a new chapter in "The Brotherhood," the secret entity behind the Templars.
His last novel, 2211 Umbra is a look at the future. Part satire, part serious analysis, the novel points out the effect of current and recent events: a paper written by the United Nations on race relations, which brought about the seminal Supreme Court case Brown vs. Board of Education, which in turn gave birth to the Civil Rights movement, which in turn made it possible for Barack Obama to become president. But it doesn't stop there; the future trajectory opens the doors to a myriad of progressive movements starting with the feminist movement, and a shaking off of religious and social constraints that eventually lead to an open society 200 years from now. Of course, that's not all the novel is about, there is also a fresh look at string theory and how it will open the doors to not only space exploration, but also a miraculous way of healing people.
Umbra 2211 will be released on August 1st, 2015.
