Heather Edwards is an author, illustrator, animator, primary school teacher and radio presenter.
She was born in England and worked first as an Architectural Draftswoman, going on to study Education, Painting/Pottery, and English Literature at Madeley, Keele University. She has been a Primary School teacher for thirty-eight years, coordinating Maths, ICT, Design and Technology, been a SENCO, and designed educational web pages.
She holds Distinction diplomas in Drama and has a City and Guilds in Television and Media. Heather has gained awards in several national media contests, including an animation competition with Aardman Studios. Over the years, she has illustrated books and had a paper sculpture on the BBC television programme, "Pebble Mill at One."
For thirty years, she has been a radio broadcaster. During that time, she made interactive learning materials for The National Extension College, Numbers For Life (Beacon Award, recording the voice links for CD's). Also, she has been involved with Espresso, making web-based learning materials, "How to produce radio with children."
Heather went on to gain a Merit Diploma in Illustrating Children's Books at London Art College, plus she studied "Writing for Children" at The Writers Bureau.
During her busy life, she has also reared five of her own children and is a legal guardian to four other children.
