Helen runs a busy psychotherapy practice in Suffolk. She is an Accredited Member of the National Counselling Society, and registered member of the British Association of Psychotherapists and Counsellors and the National Hypnotherapy Society.
“Ah, LIFE” Another Brick in the Wall was published to assist clients with their personal journeys and to help others who were unable to access a therapist directly.
She said: “My eclectic life, personal struggles and successes, and professional training provided me with the experiences, skills and empathy to understand and support others. I have worked as a psychotherapist in private practice for around 10 years.
“The first Covid 19 lock-down gave me time to write a self-development book which aimed to help people build their self-esteem through assertive behaviours; to feel more in control of their lives through positive thinking encouraged by hypnotic suggestions, and to learn how they became who they are today through a voyage of self-discovery. The purpose of my first book “Ah, LIFE” Another Brick in the Wall, was and still is to help as many people as possible live their best and happiest lives.”
Helen was born in Ipswich, Suffolk in 1967 and continues to live and work in the area. After high school she trained as a hairdresser and complementary therapist. By her mid 20s she'd been married twice, witnessed the darker and the brighter sides of life, and had retrained as a newspaper journalist. Although she continued working as a self-employed complementary therapist and Reiki teacher, her main employment was as a journalist focusing on education, crime and health.
“During my 30s I gave birth to my two beautiful daughters who have been my drive and inspiration in life ever since. In my 40s I left the newspaper industry and discovered that everything in my life thus far had given me the foundations required to become a successful psychotherapist and hypnotherapist.
“I now live a happy and fulfilling life with my partner and animals in a small Suffolk village. My family and clients remain the central focus of my life and I also enjoy socialising, motorbiking, rock music, wildlife, arts and crafts, kayaking, keeping fit and eating good food.”
