Raised in the shadow of the mountain of all mountains in the PNW, Irene has always grown up with a starving wanderlust for all things majestic and magical. She started writing as young as she could remember alongside her closest friend and fellow author. Together, they would write and share stories ranging from a shipwreck of twelve-year-old kids trapped on an island being hunted by a rat-like man with a scar. To the more mystical stories, like the main character being kidnapped to a far-off land full of magic and absurdity. Together, they would write, dream, and bring to life stories that would send hearts soaring. Now, as an adult, Irene still lives in the magical PNW with her family and their cat, Thor. She spends her weekdays teaching and fills her evenings and weekends with her favorite hobbies: writing, photography, reading, hiking, and family adventures. What she has learned from the experience of writing her first, but certainly not her last novel, is that you are never too old to make a dream come true. Also, if you have a story bursting from within, write it, even if it is just for you because you only regret the stories you never brought to life. A few of her favorite things: Books/Rain/Coffee (apart they are amazing but together they are magic), Pizza, the color ribbon red, hiking, singing off key at the top of her lungs, teaching, arts and crafts, photography, long drives on pretty roads, the stars, and getting lost in a great story. You can follow her on Instagram where she will try to stay engaging, but she also has a ton of kids, so we shall see… @author.irenehartley
