Hello – Isabel here. I write narrative non-fiction books about happiness in one form or another. Life is short and I’ve always wanted to learn as much as I can about this serious subject and to write about it with joy and humour. In ‘The Battersea Park Road to Enlightenment’ I set out to research all the weird and wonderful courses that exist that say that they can teach us how to be a happier and more well adjusted person and to pass on anything of value that I learnt.
In ‘For Tibet, With Love’ I wanted to look outwards rather than inwards and explore what an individual can do to make a difference in the world – the subject I chose to explore was the Tibetan cause but you can apply what I learnt to any cause that is dear to you whether it’s the melting of the polar ice caps or teenage drug addiction in your town.
In my continued interest in happiness I then observed the obvious that what makes most people happy or unhappy is their significant other and I couldn’t understand why I had so many girl friends that seemed to not have men in their lives – so in ‘Men’ I went to find out what had created this well known sociological phenomenon.
At this stage I had my own heart broken so was forced back to my spiritual routes in ‘The Battersea Park Road to Paradise’ in what is a look at five more areas of potential growth that takes me (and the reader) from an exploration of whether Feng Shui is nonsense or not to the jungles of the Amazonian Rain Forest to meet an 80 year old woman shaman.
Having therefore, given lots of time to spiritual focus I was surprised when challenged, ‘If you’re interested in happiness and write about all matters related to mind, body and spirit’ why is it that you have never written about sex?' I had no answer other than fear of the subject. So I then mustered all the courage that I could to write as honest a book about sexuality. And what a difficult subject it is. But perhaps the most neglected of all in the mind, body, spirit trilogy.
In 'The Joyful Environmentalist: How to Practise Without Preaching' I explore how to become an environmentalist in a way that can help both the planet and our lives. I hope very much that you enjoy it.
I am easy to reach via my website www.isabellosada.com and I reply to 98% of the emails that I receive (a form of madness) If you write and I don’t write back it just means that you wrote such a good email I filed it planning to reply later and then life took over. But mostly I reply. Thank you so much for reading and I see each and every review placed on Amazon. With love – x isabel
