J Anthony Burke was born in 1967. The last child in a family of nine children, he moved with his parents and siblings to Calgary, Canada where the family settled in 1970. Being somewhat immersed in his own world, he was seldom noticed in school, with the exception of his writing and imagination, both of which earned praise from teachers and other students on occasion.
Beginning his writing career at a later age, his earlier life experience eventually led to his knowledge of the ethereal dimension of our existence, and gave his writing style a practiced undertone of simplicity combined with ancient complexity.
