I've always been a good writer, or at least a prolific one. I wrote and published my first book, Master Internet Marketing, which was a dud. But last year I released Battle of Gettysburg: a Visual Tour, and it’s done pretty well. Early this year I released another book, Showdown at Antietam and, so far, it seems to be doing even better. I'm constantly working on my next book. The more confidence I gain in my writing (if not in my grammar and spelling!), the more determined I am in taking full advantage of modern technology to help bring historical actions to life - definitely using photography where possible, and maybe not too far down the road, animation and video. My ultimate intent is to write books that are anchored by their commentary, but which also make generous use of photography, videography and animation, as the situation requires, to make the subjects as vivid as possible. I also occasionally try to make an honest living by doing book design for budding authors, putting to use the computer tools and knowledge I’ve picked up while publishing my own books. In another life I was a professional web developer, and have been marketing products on the web for many years. I now usually develop my websites using WordPress. In my work I use several Adobe software tools daily – Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator. I’m also pretty handy with Dreamweaver and Flash. Lately I’m getting into more video production using After Effects, and 3D development using Blender, with the idea of eventually using these tools in my eBook publishing.
