Jacky Power lives in Surrey and is a mother, therapist, and performance poet. Jacky’s first poem was an anti-drugs rap that she wrote when she was 11. The irony that she then became an addiction psychotherapist is not lost on her. In 2019, Jacky wrote and performed her own one woman show ‘Light in Life’s Shadows’, a show about the messiness of being human. In October 2020, she appeared in an open mic slot at the BAFTA award winning spoken word show ‘Life and Rhymes’, filmed on Sky Arts. Her latest show ‘Stop the World I Want to Get Off’ was first performed in October 2021 in Dorking Halls, Surrey. She has an MSc in addiction psychology and counselling and specialises in social media addiction. Her writing has appeared in Om Yoga magazine, the Riza Press’s ‘The Uncertain Creative’ COVID-19 support platform, the For Women Who Roar storytelling movement and various poetry anthologies.
