Actually, I don't consider my an "Author". I'm just a person with some stories to share from my outrageously unconventional life. My writing style definitely reflects my farm girl roots, almost Amish. And each book writes itself, authentically. I started in my forties with "Jacque's Journals", "A Frogtown Family", and "What's Your Story". ALL VERY SHORT SIMPLE STUFF UNTIL... "Gratitude & Grit - A Mother's Healing Journey" 2013 NEXT GENERATION INDIE BOOK AWARD FINALIST - the true account of my son's seemingly fatal motorcycle accident. I say "seemingly" because he was given a zero percent chance of surviving, but he did, as a paraplegic. That one event has transformed my life more than any other; and the book was written to share the story of healing on many levels, for both of us; but most of all, to share Hope. Then, because my son's story became even more unbelievable this book spewed out. "Paralyzed Without Fear - A Family of Their Own" 2016 NEXT GENERATION INDIE BOOK AWARD DOUBLE FINALIST - the continuing saga of my son Erik's life after paralysis. His unprecedented journey is filled with suspense, twists, turns and heroic life-saving serendipitous moments as he makes his way through the dark valley of paralysis. He emerges to become the first documented paralyzed man in US history to use experimental animal husbandry techniques at home to conceive his three amazing children. Just as I settled in to the enjoyment of grand mothering three grandchildren, my husband was diagnosed with terminal cancer and given a year to live. That story screamed to be told as well. He didn't die as we had been told, henceforth my next book. "Cancer Without Fear - A Year to Live" - another true account of our extremely unconventional treatment path and how we navigated the turbulent waters of being dismissed from mainstream medical care.
