Jaime Goicoechea Zúñiga was born on May 24, 1967, in Venustiano Carranza, Puebla. This locality was formerly known as Agua Fría. Since the age of fourteen, Jaime Goicoechea Zúñiga has been writing short stories and songs. He has been a resident of Dallas, Texas, since 1987 and has lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma, for the past three years. He has two children: Gabriela and José Jaime, as well as six grandchildren. Although he left Agua Fría at an early age, Agua Fría never left him.
