Jan Walters grew up and still resides in central Iowa. She and her husband own a farm.
Jan's first novel, Believe, was published in August 2013. Believe is a romantic fiction/time travel set in the Victorian Era. The San Francisco Book Review stated, "Several things stand out in Believe that make it different from other time travel romance books. The element of a sociopathic stalker added a level of mystery and suspense, as well as providing a catalyst to advance the romance."
In September 2014, York Street- A Ghost & A Cop Series was released. The book is a tale of chaos and mayhem as Brett O'Shea, a young street cop, and an irreverent ghost, Al, team up to outwit a serial killer with unusual capabilities. Brett doesn't believe in hocus pocus until Al shows up. The two are in for the ride of their life. York Street is a 2016 Eric Hoffer Finalist.
The second book in the series is Red Sunset Drive. This book was given the Editor's Choice Award and the Rising Star Award. Detective Brett O'Shea and his ghostly partner are on the trail of vampires.
The third book in the 'Ghost and A Cop' series is 'Tempest Court'. The book was released in January 2020. Brett O'Shea and Michael, the ghost, take on a mummy with magical powers.
Hazzard Avenue is the fourth book in the series. This time, Detective O'Shea meets a voodoo priestess, who spreads her web of evil. O'Shea's psychic abilities reach heights unimagined. In 2024, a new horror movie, Voodun, will be released. The movie is based on the Hazzard Avenue book.
Jan also wrote and produced a horror film, Lost Lake, which is expected to be released in 2024.
