Jane Rose Caruso is an author of up-lit novels and fairy tales, and she lives in Beltory, the imaginary town she created as the setting for many of her stories.
A former bookseller with a background in Law, in 2011 she founded the literary blog La Fenice Book, which is still active today. She works in digital content creation and social media, and is the director of three editorial series. She is also a judge for the National Literary Award Equilibri and the founder of the magazine Cozy Life.
She lives in the countryside, on a hill surrounded by greenery, with her husband, children, two dogs, and several cats. She loves nature, considers lavender her favorite flower, and enjoys writing fairy tales with her children, imagining they live on a cloud of whipped cream or deep within the forest.
She is the author of the cozy novel series “Miss Garnette Catharine Book Cooking”, which includes five main volumes (Spices & Wishes, Gifts & Cinnamon, Rum & Secrets, Dreams & Bubbles, Intrigues & Coffee), two novellas (A Pumpkin Tea and A Cherry Tea), a daily planner, the Herbarium of Emotions, a weekly planner, and a recipe book. The first volume in the series was translated into English by Vintage Editore.
She co-authored the novel Miss Book at Wisteria House – Tea, Cookies and Trunks with author Lisa Bresciani.
With her “Country Conerville” novellas, she explores delicate themes such as loss, rebirth, illness, and bullying, in titles like The Path of Fireflies and Christmas in Conerville.
For younger readers, she has published the illustrated series “Tales from the Enchanted Forest”, including:
Bert the Mouse and the Raspberry Tummy Ache, The Magical Night of Stardust, Red the Yellow-Breasted Robin, Bert & Poddy and the Great Summer Party, and Bert & Poddy and the Springtime Adventures (the latter two illustrated by Chiara Vincenzi).
She also wrote Carrotina and the Magic of Christmas and Lanolino the Gnome is in Trouble, a tale dedicated to the gnomes of the Lost Lands.
With Tomolo Edizioni, she created the “Pocket-Sized Fairy Tales” series—short, poetic stories with a seasonal feel, including The Holly Christmas, The Little Pumpkin Snail, A Hedgehog Like a Chestnut, Joyful Tadpoles at the Golden Lake, and Boats Racing on the Green Pond.
Also with Tomolo, she published the “Fairy Maple Fairies” series, which includes The Golden Beetle and The Star Fairy.
She has written several standalone novels, including The Cherry Blossom Neighborhood, inspired by Japan.
With More Stories Publishing, she released the holiday novella The Chocolaterie on Muffin Street and its spin-off A Hot Chocolate for Ophelia.
Her novel The Bay of Memories – Jellyfish Cove was selected as a finalist at the Book Fair organized by the Montevergine Sisters' Library.
She also self-published Paper and Salt Embroideries, also set in Jellyfish Cove.
Her stories have been featured in several anthologies, including A Heartbeat (Darcy Edizioni) and Halloween Stories (Segreti in Giallo).
