Janet Haney was never alone until everything changed, and she found herself alone. She buried her son at age nine. 10 years later, she buried her husband too. A couple of years after that, she battled cancer and thankfully now lives in remission, but with an empty nest and a daughter and grandchildren out-of-state. These challenges have marked her in a life-altering way and given her a story to tell.
She says, "Life doesn't turn out the way we think it will. Pain, struggles, and grief clog up our hearts. But nothing in life is wasted, not even our struggles." Janet believes that times of transition and "hard places" can become a treasure, even if it doesn't feel like it.
Today, Janet Haney is an author and a creative journaling teacher based out of northern Kentucky, USA. She is living proof that writing can help anyone through grief and transitions.
