Jason Shannon is a Canadian author. Shannon began writing in ninth grade, but went for years without finishing anything, and then years more without publishing. His first big break was publishing the untitled true story of his vasectomy (published under the name Jay Shannon) at the age of 26, in the collection "Being Fruitful Without Multiplying: Stories and Essays from Around the World" by Patricia Yvette, Renee Anne, Janice Lynne and Many Others. It was at this time he was already working on the final edit of "The Zimmer Insurgency", his debut novel, which he self-published the following year in 2013. Shannon worked in constuction for many years, and continues to to this day, in a variety of tasks from heavy equipment operation to safety.
