Identity isn't all about experiences and descriptions. My bio doesn't really have a single peg to grasp. If you read my books, you know that I am a storyteller. On other days, I am a driven athlete and coach for men and women seeking to make the National Team in Duathlon and Triathlon. For a few months each year, I am a high-adventure travel guide, leading people on rafting and fishing trips in Alaska, trekking in Nepal, cycling in Spain, and cycling the entire Blue Ridge Parkway. Some mornings, I am a recovering alcoholic. Regardless of which identity I currently hold, I always seem to find ideas and people that you read about. Writing began when I should have ended. I had a horrific bike wreck that put me in a hospital for four days. Both attending physicians said I should have died. Instead, I woke up and discovered that my passion is writing. I always told myself I would get around to it one day. The "round to it" was upon me, and I found my voice. I love connecting history and fiction. I love timeframes where life seemed impossible. I love characters who don't believe what people tell them unless they can prove it to themselves. Braiding that together is a lot of fun and almost too close to truthful to not be. My wife, Linda, and I live in rural North Carolina. Our children are grown and gone. You can follow my other writings or sign up to do one of my tours at https://thresholdacademy.com/blog/.
