Jim Clarke was born in Tucson, Arizona in 1942 and spent his early years between the Bar-V-Bar ranch in Arivaca and the family farm near the San Xavier Mission south of Tucson. After high school he joined the U.S. Navy and served onboard the aircraft carrier USS Yorktown. After his service he attended the University of Arizona where he majored in Marketing and Agricultural Economics. He spent the majority of his career as a John Deere dealer in Idaho and later as a sales and Marketing consultant for major Farm equipment manufacturers throughout the United States and Canada. After reading numerous western historical novels in his early retirement years he began to think that the journey of Phil and Gipsy was worth telling about. Arivaca- Out Yonder is his first novel. Jim is married, has three children, many grandchildren and continues to call Caldwell, Idaho home.
