Joan Wahl grew up in Western New York, minutes away from the world-famous Chautauqua Institution, where she has attended lectures, concerts, operas and the ballet. She attended Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pennsylvania, although as a teenager she had unrealistic dreams of attending Julliard and studying piano. Joan loves to travel and her favorite destinations are Nashville, Tennessee, her “happy place”, the rugged coast of Maine and New York City at Christmastime. She loves to browse in bookstores and libraries, visit museums, tour historic homes, and get lost trying to locate a remote lighthouse. Joan has been fortunate to meet many of her favorite authors, including Clive Cussler, although the list of those she would like to meet grows longer with every book she reads. Someday she hopes to be able to travel to Colorado to tour the Cussler Museum and see some of the automobiles he featured in his books. Joan has one adult daughter and one grandson, who lights up her life with his smile. When Joan is not writing or reading, she is having monster truck races with her four-year-old grandson or cheering for her favorite football team, the Buffalo Bills. Her husband of seventeen years makes every day seem like a honeymoon, so it seemed very natural to pen a love story. “My musical background and love of travel converged in Nashville where I was inspired to visit iconic locations and set my romances in Music City. My stories are warm, inviting and offer the perfect setting for fans of contemporary romance. Escape with Summer and Brody and follow along as other characters have the chance to find their happily ever after as the series continues.” Joan is the author of ‘Summer Love in Music City’ and the upcoming ‘Falling for Autumn in Music City’. “I met Joan some years ago and we became instant friends of literature and creativity. When she delivered her book to a fairly large group of patrons at the Patterson Library in Westfield it was with great passion for her craft and keeper of the book's characters. As a librarian, I fell into Summer's character easily since it's where I met my husband in a library 15 years ago and I felt the same instant love and attraction. It's always a pleasure to see her and discuss her craft.” Nancy Nixon Ensign Patterson Library Adult Program Specialist & Octagon Gallery Curator
